Bride
Same client as the Silhouette Girl above. This one of a bride. I am experimenting with the colored lines technique. Kinda like it. Everything's so girly and pink about these drawings. But that's okay...I'm secure in my heterosexuality. And, oh yeah, I DO realize this one looks like the "Teacher" character from the educational products company, with just slightly different proportions. Well, she recently got married, is all! Now the kids will have to call her by her new name.
Ah, I figured they were different clients, different markets, so I decided to use my default pretty blonde girl again. Actually, if you've ever seen my wife, this looks like a cartoon version of her alot, ao that must be where that "template" comes from in my head.

You and I went to school together at Trinity Lutheran in Greenville. I ran across one of your websites a couple of years ago and really enjoyed your caricature work. A little while ago I was watching the Daytona NASCAR race and saw a caricature of Darrell Waltrip that reminded me of your style. I did a little looking and came across your blog.
The last time I saw you, we were taking a COBOL class at Greenville Tech. I remember you showing me books filled with your cartoon characters. At the time I recall most of them having huge muscles, but I was amazed at the depth of creativity.
I am glad to see that you have developed your craft to such a high level and wish the best for you in the future.
Just wanted to say "Hi."
I am currently working as a paralegal, writer and videographer in Portland, Oregon. I've been out here since I left Greenville in 1992.
Best regards,

Jayson...
You're one of the handful of people I actually DO remember from back then! How's it goin', man? Weren't we also in Indian Guides together with our Dads? Wow. That was SOOOOO long ago! Let's see, I remember you, Dewey Carpenter, Richard Jones, a girl named Susan Godball (who I think got picked on a lot, for some reason), Jake Razor, and Susanna Grant (my first crush, if I remember right). That's it until about middle school. So, you're in a very small circle! I had just thought about that computer class a few weeks ago, actually. How strange that you'd write now, after that! Funny. Man, I didn't learn jack in that class. I draw on the puter all the time now, but that's the extent of what I can do.
Yeah, I still draw a lot of muscle guys, but mostly for my 8 year old daughter, who's a big comic book fan (wonder where she got THAT from?). Do you have any kids?
I hope everything's going well with you, and thanks for writing. This was a great blast from the past. Take care and God bless!
